Q. How do the shoes run?
A. Our shoes run a tad narrow in width and true to size in length. Therefore, you may need to order a size larger than you normally wear. Please measure your foot and check our sizing chart before you order.
Q. Can I return the shoes if they don't fit?
A. Since these shoes are hand-made, we do not accept returns but we will gladly exchange your shoes for a pair that does fit. Again, please check our sizing chart to make sure you get the right shoes. You must notify us via email at luckyloushoes@yahoo.com within 10 days of your purchase if you need to make an exchange. Buyer must include a money order or cash (no personal checks, please!) for $10 to cover return shipping. You can also use Paypal for this. When returning a pair for exchange, DO NOT send them via UPS or FedEx, as they won't deliver to PO boxes. Use USPS only. Our shipping address is:

Q. How long will it take to get my shoes?
A. Each pair of shoes is carved by hand, then the strap that you ordered is put on last. We carry a limited amount of stock on hand, so if you've ordered a pair that's in stock, they'll be shipped out via FedEx usually within 3 - 4 days. If they're not in stock, they'll have to be made and shipped to us. That can take 4 to 6 weeks. We will let you know how long your shoes will take at the time you place your order.
Q. I wore my shoes out dancing last night
and some big brute stepped on my foot.
My shoes got scratched so now what do I do?
A. We suggest touching your shoes up with Krylon Triple-Thick Clear Glaze, or any other thick, clear lacquer available at most hobby stores. Do NOT use the spray lacquer stuff, since it will get all over and isn't thick enough to fill in the scratches anyway. Get some cheap, small throwaway bruches and dab and blend the lacquer until you've covered the scratches. Let the lacquer dry at least 24 hours before wearing the shoes. If your shoes have colored paint on them, we suggest using tiny bottles of Testor's Model paint in the same application. Be sure to put clear lacquer over the colored paint no sooner than 24 hours after it's dried or the paint will smudge. We think it's a good idea to touch up your shoes as often as you like, to keep them fresh-looking.
Q. Are these shoes heavy like clogs?
A. Not at all. They're made of a very lightweight, yet strong wood and have a rubber sole, so they're not clompy at all. Our carvers have been using this type of wood since the 1930's. Our carvers are the grandchildren of the people who were carving the Souvenir shoes during World War II, so this is a process that's been handed down through the generations.
Q. How are the shoes made?
A. Our carvers use only hand-tools to carve their beautiful designs. The trees are cut down and the wood must be dried for several months before it can be worked. The only electric tool used is the sewing machine for stitching the straps. By the way, the straps have an extra layer of leather underneath the top layer for strength.
